There is a forgot password link on USCIS page. Click on that and enter your email id which you used to create your account. They will send you a link to reset your password.

I traveled via Lufthansa last month ( EWR-FRA-MAA) and had approved H1B petition on hand ( to show that I'm legally working without any gaps) and on returning I showed AP.
If you look at German consulate site, they have mentioned that if an Indian citizen residing in US is traveling to India, then he just need to have proof of continuous legal stay in US.
If an Indian citizen living in US is travelling to say, Australia, then he needs to have German transit visa in addition to Australian Visa.
While returning, it is either AP or valid stamp on passport.

As per suggestion by members of the forum, I am planning on using a good attorney to file my appeal.
The new attorney for my company is 'Law Offices of Slowik & Robinson LLC' (http://www.s-r-law.com/) based in Columbus, OH and is supposedly very reputable and well known.
If you guys have heard of them or know about them, please drop a few lines here. This will help me make a decision as to stay with the new company attorney or go to much bigger firms like Murthy LLC.

This is Off-Topic, sorry about that, but this is the best forum i could think of to ask this:
My father-in-law is visiting us from India, and he is thinking of driving a car here. He drives in India and I think in a couple of weeks (with maybe 2-3 classes with some instructor) he should get the hang of driving. Are there any risks that anyone knows of with this? (if he makes a mistake and ends up in an accident I understan that we end up being personally liable and can even be sued if there is an injured party).

I have myself driven a lot in many states on B1/B2, All the car rental agencies on mostly international airports cater to visitors on B1/B2.When i came to US for the first time on business, i drove around 3000 miles just on weekends :-)
If the Locals DL of your FIL is not in english, you need a International Drivers Permit, from your country.IDP is just an english transalation of your local drivers licence,and is not valid without the original DL.
The only problem i see, is that your insurance would not cover him(mine required the authorized driver to have a US licence).if he just wants to drive for fun, you better rent him a car with CDW and Liability insurance.Its expensive but its safe.
And i personally don't agree that fines could be 3 times...all the silicon valley visitors would be screwed.

- She already got GC ? and expiring after five or 10 years? If so, the divorce will not impact the GC process.
"she has an appointment on that day for what i think is to get her permanent residency"
- If she is not yet getting her GC, then it will impact the GC. Either she has to be patient or lose it. Even after getting GC, if she goes for divorce immediately it will trigger investigation as if your friend married US citizen just to get the GC.

* Today, the Senate also passed this bill by agreeing to the House H.R. 2638 which the House paased earlier. Here is the vote count. This bill now goes to the President for his signature. The President is expected to sign all of these bills, including Consolidated Continuing Appropriation, Reauthorizations of Non-Miniter Religious Worker Special Immigration, and Conrad 30 International Medical Graduates National Interest Waiver bills before October 1, Wednesday. Otherwise, the federal government is destined to shut down and the immigration reauthorization laws will sunset and gone. The President is anticipated to sign these bills by September 30, 2008.
* Sad part is that the immigration reauthorization is valid only until March 6, 2009 just as the continuing appropriation act. Still, it is a good news in that most of the pending I-360 non-minister religious worker immigration petitions, Conrad-30 based I-140 petitions, and EB-485 applications related to these petitions are likely taken care of before March 6, 2009. The USCIS is currently holding in abeyance these petitions and related EB-485 applications pending the Congressional action. Since the Congress has now cleared the path, as soon as the President signs the bills, the USCIS is likely to pick up these petitions and 485 applications swiftly. First, get in touch with a consulate that issued your visa and ask for some kind of a confirmation that a visa was in fact issued to you. Second, you can try to get a replacement of lost departure/arrival record with USCIS. On the application you write a date when you arrived and place and all the details. If they find info in their computer, they will issue to you a "duplicate" of your original arrival I-94. To request replacement of record, you can use I-102.

I don't think it's anything to do with pdf writer. If he is asking about forms like I-485, G-325 A etc..those have pdf security enable and wont allow you to save it. Whereas if you try I-693 form (for medical), that will allow you to save the form even if you do not have pdf writer.

Then its advisable to apply in EB3 category and her reasoning was that with her experience she has seen lots of EB2 application in the past few years and very less EB3 apps and hence chances of EB3 being processed earlier than EB2 are quiet high.
Also, consider the job satisfaction/career growth you will get by taking up this new job which you said is better than your current one.....Keeping in view the current trend, it will be atleast 5-6 yrs for Eb-2 to come to Oct 2007....Ask yourself if you want to be doing what you are doing right now for that long......I would move on.....

In some states (like NJ), you need a letter from Social Security Administration stating that you are not eligible for SSN.

Get a non-availability certificate from the local municipal office and submit it to USCIS..on a safer side..
