Are you saying EB3-India visa date will be set as Jan 2004 by USCIS some time soon? I thought they kept saying that EB3-India dates would move very slowly only. So from the current Oct 2001 to Jan 2004 is a very long and narrow road.
Applicants with PD before January First 2004 will mostly be current by December 2008 end. That is what I belive, USCIS will head towards. If it will not happen than do not kill me.:) Ultimately we all are in USCIS's lap..

Just the thought of fighting to support your God shows that you really dont belive in his/her strength or you dont really know what God is!! Most of us do not read their opinions and try to broaden our knowledge. We never get beyond what our parents taught us about GOD and religion. What is worse still is that the allegorical descriptions in religious texts are now treated as facts and we often end up arguing over these as well.
Having said that, there is nothing wrong in believing in GOD. There is also nothing wrong if someone is not convinced about the existence of GOD. There are valid philosophical arguments for both cases. Lack of mutual respect and failing to see others point of view is what is causing this rift.

My motive is simple and straightforward. I am looking for points that I can use to convince lawmakers and media that American will gain AND not loose by supporting our cause.
I also plan to use the poll results during our upcoming meeting with lawmakers. If you have some better idea , which will enable me to use during such meetings, I am all ears.

The poll we are voting on was when did we plan to make a property purchase, my view and my opinion was that to me holding the green card wasn't the deciding factor.

But obviously you attempted to consider buying property before your GC approval, because of your mortgage rejection...which is due to lender policy.
I thought the purpose of the poll was to measure the forums "plan and intention": when do you plan to buy a house?
Are you waiting for green card approval or are you buying before?
Perhaps it's an unfair question, because most people don't have the cash to just buy out right and are forced to borrow, at the lenders conditions.
The other economic question is about property values and real estate cycles. The two rules of real estate are "location, location, location" and "timing".
Then factor the security of your position.
At the end of the day as I see it we have to choices, we either rent accomodation or we buy.
It's up to all of us to make our own decision as to which route we wish to take and whether the cost of renting is the opportunity cost of buying.

Nothing is right or wrong, as meaning of quality of life is a very subjective thing.
In Japan, people work hard, send money/products to the US, and be happy for better quality of life by looking at increasing balances in their bank books each morning, and don't care what homes/cars they have.
In the US, people get happy for better quality of life by looking at their new BMW's, and nicely furnished homes (bought by money borrowed from Japanese investors), and don't care what they owe.
Both are unhappy too, for not having enough what they want more, Japanese want to have bigger balances in their bank books, and American want bigger BMW's and homes.
"Peace of Mind - Do you have" referenced in posts above is just a price for the quaility of life they "enjoy". No enjoyment comes without a price.

I have seen this same footage months ago and to it don't look real, its cooked. It was a long frustrating wait time.I am glad its over now. My best wishes to those that are still waiting.
No RFE at any stage, straight forward case, one time took infopass to just find out the status. Total Wait time 5 and half years.
Here are the dates:
I received the card order production mail on 9 June 2008.
Received the welcome letter on 13th June.2008
Received the Card on 16th June.
PD: June 2001 - EB2- India
I 484 applied on 28 th June 2007 - NSC.
Finger print on Aug 26 th. 2007- NSC.
Sep 26 Got EAD. 2007 - NSC.
Original Labor - Sep 2002, Approved in 2006
Labor substitution on May 1st week. 2007 - NSC.
140 approved on May 2nd week. 2007
Joined fulltime April 3rd week, 2008. New employer applied H1 and received.
I have not sent AC21 letter.

Hi,
I am planning to file EAD & AP on my own and separately from I-485.
Our company will incur the charge for processing I-485 for me and my spouse. But they won't incur the charge for filing EAD and AP. All the attorneys are charging hefty amount for filing EAD & AP. So I am thinking to file EAD & AP on my own and let company take care of my I-485.
So my questions are
1) Is it ok if I file EAD & AP separately from I-485?
Or should i wait till I-485 approval is received and then file EAD & AP.
The concern is because in #10 of I-765 form, there is a section that asks for Alien Registration Number (A-number) or I-94 Number.
2) Is it ok if the I-485 applications are sent by the company and EAD & AP are sent by me and both of these documents reach separately at INS?
Generally most of the applications will reach INS in one bundle. Because I am sure most of the applicants will file I-485/EAD/AP in one shot. But in my case, it will be 2 reaching INS in 2 separate bundles. So is it ok, in my case?
Please advise.

What can be more racist and unfair than USA as of today when hundred thousands of people who already gave their youth energy to innovation are being made to live hell like lives? I am sure many of us will find medical repercussions of what we are going through in few more years and then we can frame GC or AP or EAD or H1B extension and stare at it from hospital beds :) Cornyn / Durbin is all BS, they just don't want people to settle here, they just want slaves. Rest all are hurdles and policies to close any possible open door for deserving.
It's true that Europe can be a tough place, as can Canada or the U.S. to a newcomer. What is true about Europe is that it is a socialist place, salaries are lower, taxes are higher, racism is stronger, houses are smaller, yet you are also surrounded by beautiful places and there is a lot to do and see. It depends what type of person you are. Some Europeans hate Europe themselves and want to come to the U.S. as much or more than you did when you immigrated here. I'd say Europe is a good Plan B if all else fails here in America for you, and then you can always go back to India or China if you didn't like Europe.
Hopefully we don't need to get sucked in by the Reverse Brain Drain and we can help Congress help us, by changing the law, and retaining the high-skilled legal immigrants like us who are suffering and stuck in backlogs, and which is the only fair thing to do!

It happened to my brother's friend's mother's uncles' newphews daughter's boss's cousin's babysitter's husband's colleage's niece's neighbor's sister's mailman's father's janitor's pharmacist's ex-girlfriend.
Now that is the entire chain this rumor has travelled so far before you heard it. This is pure BS. People seem to get a kick out of spreading out rumors.
If the person is on bench or was involved in something shady, the IOs can put them in removal proceedings and that is well within their right. Stop spreading unwanted and unconfirmed rumors.

This is expected to generate ~10 Billion INR tax collection for the government in the year 2009-10.

If you know something and if its WIDESPREAD and affects almost all applicants, please mention it here in details. The rough estimation is about 500K to 700K new 485s and same amount of EAD and AP applications will be filed in July.

When they took inventory in May, there are about 40,000 documentarily qualified 485 applications were pending due to non-availability of visa numbers. The �documentarily qualified 485 applications� mean the application filed long time back and processed by USCIS and cleared the FBI name and criminal check, and found eligible for green card.
2.IF THESE 40K WERE OTHERWISE QULAIFIED WHY WERE THEY SITTING ON THEM UNTIL MID-JUNE ....TO START WITH? IF THEY WERE SO EAGER TO FOLLOW THE OMBUDSMAN'S GUIDELINES WHY WERE THEY SO SLOW IN USING UP THE VISA NUMBERS UNTIL MID JUNE?
However, the available visas are more than 40,000 (60to 70K). Then they made with out consulting properly with USCIS they made �current� for all EB categories. This is how they determine �current� or �over-subscribed� and how they establish cutoff dates.
3.MORE PRECISE DESCRIPTION WOULD BE THEY WERE COMPLETELY RECKLESS..GIVE A S+I& ABOUT HOW MUCH THEIR ACTIONS AFFECT THE CUSTOMERS.
For example, an EB3-Indian whose LC approved through fast PERM on July 30th 2007, can apply 140 and 485 on July 31st 2007 as per July visa bullet. For his PD, it will take another 10 years for the approval of 485. During this 10 year period, he/she has to live in EAD and AP and need to go for finger print every 15 month.
4.OK..... WHICH PART OF THIS AFFECTED THE STAFF AT USCIS... THE FACT THAT MANY OF US WILL ONLY HAVE EAD FOR 10 YRS OR THE FACT THAT MORE EAD RENEWALS MEANS MORE CUMBERSOME WORK FOR THEM? I'M AFRAID IT IS THE LATER.

For example, an EB3-Indian whose LC approved through fast PERM on July 30th 2007, can apply 140 and 485 on July 31st 2007 as per July visa bullet. For his PD, it will take another 10 years for the approval of 485. During this 10 year period, he/she has to live in EAD and AP and need to go for finger print every 15 month.
4.OK..... WHICH PART OF THIS AFFECTED THE STAFF AT USCIS... THE FACT THAT MANY OF US WILL ONLY HAVE EAD FOR 10 YRS OR THE FACT THAT MORE EAD RENEWALS MEANS MORE CUMBERSOME WORK FOR THEM? I'M AFRAID IT IS THE LATER.
Now, they used all 140K visas this year.
5.AREN'T THEY REQUIRED BY LAW TO SPREAD THE NUMBERS FOR EACH QUARTER? DON'T THEY HAVE LIMITATIONS ON HOW MUCH THEY CAN USE FOR EACH MONTH ETC?
The constructive approach is getting an immediate interim relief by legislation to recapture unused visas in previous years to balance the supply vs demand difference.
6.I AGREE. THIS COULD BE THE ONLY >POTENTIAL <SILVER LINING. HOWEVER, OPPONENTS WHO FOUGHT THE PREVIOUS LEGISLATIONS IN FAVOR OF US WON'T LET IT HAPPEN THAT EASILY.
THERE IS NO OTHER CHOICE OTHER THAN TRYING..
