Shantak,
when was your FP done?
Mine was paper based, but still waiting.:-(
GCCovet
I had my fp done on June 19th.
When I spoke to the IO they told me that they have received my "approved" FP on 7/22

It looks like most people want to believe just what is good for them. I have yet to see the document that says "It is illegal to issue interim visa bulletins or stop accepting applications mid month".
Don't kill the messenger.
Be concerned and be VERY CONCERNED. Being in denial will not help. Work with the assumption that the dates might go back any time. If your conditions does not permit you to file in the first week there is not much you can do. Tough luck if the dates go back. But if there are things you can do , please do...
I will give you an example, It is very difficult to get medical appointments where I live and the first opportunity was July last week. I traveled 120 miles (not much) and got mine done last week, where as a friend of mine did not want travel and took the local appointment for Jul 3rd week assuming he can file by Jul31. With the change in dynamics he has to revise the plans and may not get the appointment 120 miles away.
I mean to say, work with the goal to apply ASAP.
Good post . ANy thing can happen and you got a chance after 2 years to file your 485 ..Do what ever you can and file. You may hardly loose 1 grand if you pay premium for all services

I had called them last week and was told the ususal spiel about my processing time not being current. But the lady also slipped with some piece of info that I did not have before: The processing dates are updated every 2 weeks....we do not see that online. While I am not sure that is true, I still figured hey let's call again and see. So yesterday the guy on the phone told me that I am outside their processing times and that he will put in a service request to make sure they will take care of my application....and my RD is July 2nd.....so their might be some truth about them internally updating processing times.....maybe

This is a link to other races in the DC area: I have never run a race; so I plan on running one of the 5K races in May or June and maybe try one of the 10K races in August. I am sure there are other races abound in summer. If there are others who are apprehensive about running the 10miler (like me).........you might want to try doing something similar.

Various reasons...time...schedule...other obligations etc...lack of readily available information on IV as an organisation or state chapter....too many steps to do simple things like joining the state chapter :)
ya some of the reasons seem ridiculous...but even small things easily hinder people who already have a busy life. They create mental barriers...where such tasks are just postponed rather than handled in an instant.
I am trying to get more of IV core members to take these small things seriously and have even offered to help in this regard.
I do agree with some of your points. We could do with a marketing consultant for the website, etc
Many on core are working almost all their waking hours, and simply don't have time.
But you know what the funny thing is? No one is willing to donate for these items.
We are even $28,000 short for critical things like Advocacy days.
People couldn't even collect a few thousand dollars for advertising on a single website about IV.
We don't have a paid sales person or PR person.
Most people aren't aware of realities.

I would say 90 % in the same boat :p No sweat. They will do an immunization test. You could even get the vaccinations taken
But some of those vaccinations require a 90 days period don't they? ( Like Hep-B if I am right, may be not!!!)

Hi,
My 485 petition is with NSC. I opened an SR last month and got a rather uninformative response today. It does not tell me if my petition has been pre-approved or has even cleared the background check.
"
The status of this service request is: Your file is currently with the adjudications department, waiting on the availability of an officer to be assigned your pending case. Please allow at least another 90 days to hear something further on your application.

When I see EB3-China data in USCIS's work sheet I am getting shocked. How come EB3-China has a such a low pending number particularly comparing with Eb3-India?
That is the first point for me to generate doubts about the accuracy of the data.
Because! Most of the Chinese come to US to do MS and mostly apply in EB2. Not many come to US from China to work after Bachelors. Where as a lot of Indians come to work after bachelors and working in Indian companies for some time and so there is huge number of EB3 applications for India. Hope this makes sense???????

Pappu:
People (who just got current) are opening SRs and writing letters to their respective Congressmen because visa numbers get used up pretty fast.
In 2009, I went for a personal interview with an immigration Officer at local USCIS Office. She verified all the records and when I was about to leave, she gave me a form and said:
"When your priority date become current, I need you to send this form to us ASAP so we can check the visa availability for you. We personally won't remember your file and priority date."
The form contains my A number, my name, case status and is written "Pending for visa availability."
However, at this time, my files are no longer with local USCIS office. They have been moved to Texas.
So, when my dates become current, I will open SR or whatever to let them know that I am ready for some greenery in my backyard. :)
I am seeing several people contacting Congressman and opening service requests. These guys seem to have become current just this month and they do not have any patience. It is crazy in my opinion. As pointed out earlier there is lot of herd mentality on the forums and if one person posts, everyone else does the same. Some people I have seen on the forum call customer service every day to get case status. I urge people to read and try to understand the process than blindly following what others are doing. Secondly as posted earlier, tracking is also useless and a waste of time. It will not help you get your green card any faster. Have some patience and follow the process. Starting a service request as soon as your date gets current, cannot help you.

Hi All
We are having plenty of Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kanndam, Kujart, etc associations. Why don't we send send messages to these associations and request them to spread about this event. They might do some help for us.
What do you all guys think?

Weldonspring,
I am on the same board. I am also planning the samething.
1) After 11 weeks that is next week Friday call the customer service and raise a Service Request
2) Within 2 wks no response, on 90th day I will walk into the local office (SFO) and ask for interim EAD.
3) If Still create the issues, packe the bags and go back to home country. It is really bad,
getting frustrating for everything no regulare process and always waiting.
So I give up, I applied on april 1st and still waiting no updates:mad:

barbara boxer, diane finestein, ted kennedy are anti eb immigrants, infact these people might be happy with this fiasco. John cornyn, pat leahey and others who sposored or co-sponsored skill, cantwell amendment are the ones who might help us.
Hi, I did that today. A personalized letter along with copies of the Interim Bulletin and te USCIS press release on July 2.
Next, I want to write to other senators who are friendly to skilled immigrants (Cantwell, Cornyn etc). Has someone compiled a list of them?

I know I said "FP report" in my previous post, but he actually said "received fingerprint on July 24th". I asked him again and he repeated the same thing.
It didn't make sense to me because they only took the right index print, photo, and signature as part of regular Code 3 biometrics, and this they should have transmitted electronically through CLAIMS the same day, i.e. June 19th. Going by what he said, they took the FP on June 19th, and TSC received it on July 24th...so it apparently took them more than a month to transmit the information
"the FP report was received on July 24th (which probably explains the July 25th LUD)".
can you explain the above some line more ? did USCIS receive the FP report on july 24 ? if yes and if everything is o.k. ..then you should be all set ..am I right ?? or do they have to do something more with the FP report --- I hope there is no namecheck here too
