HI ..most the CP filers are in US and contribute to Immigration Voice regularly. You can say by mistake or something else some people chose to go for Consular Processing when dates became current and they all are in bad shape at this time. If you think about those who applied for Cp being in US then you would realise 485 filers are too much priviledged in comparison of them.

Yes, I am not taking her words as unwritten law as we all know that NC is killing many people for years. So I would request to take that as a guide line.
Another meaning I can extract is if today you took infopass for NC and got nothing or "pending" do not bother yourself next 4 months for inquiry.
On a side note, I was wondering what happens to derivative/secondary beneficiaries 485 applications if the primary beneficiary is stuck in name check.....If secondary beneficiaries are cleared and primary is not, then does USCIS approve GCs for secondary beneficiaries..

Ok, I've seen a lot of threads about go to the rally, actions items, I've reading a lot of guys saying dont ask for your receipt status, dont waste your time etc, etc.
Yes we did the rally we were great with all those signs, and appearing in the Indy TV but...
Question remains open:
1. When are they going to increase the GC quota?
2. When congress id going to do something?
I've the feeling that that's it we made our point but we are still with no GC, waiting receipts..............
Things don't happen overnight... From your questions it looks like you half expected lawmakers to come out in the rally and announce that we hereby increase visa numbers to ####. Things dont happen that way.
The rally put our issues in front of the lawmakers eyes so they can help in influencing and introducing legislation for us... and when they do, we need to be equally active as for the CIR with faxes and emails and calls to lawmakers...

What were the PD's on your two I140's ? Were you able to port the PD of EB3 to EB2 ?
Both were EB2 from the same company. PD on one was Oct/2006 and the other was Feb/2002.

My company paid for attorney fees. I don�t know the amount for that. My wild guess would be 4000$
My pocket expense
$680 - medical tests
$75 - photographs
$50 - mailing fees.
$100 � Extra Day care expenses. My wife and I have wasted 2 working days for this filling, We had to work extra hours and week ends to compensate. Had to drop my kid at the day care extra hours when we were working extra hours.

Yes you are right, there is bound to have EAD flood in market, with spouses of hi-tech worker will come to market to search hi-tech job with spouse phone support. I have seen such cases countless times in past few years and yes they will be in future without exception. However, matter of fact, these fresh EAD (previous H4) don't get the dream job in first attempt, it takes good 2 year to find a similar job that H1b hitech worker does.
But thats the realty of market, every year new jobs are added and every year new job seekers join the crowd.
On the otherside, a hitech worker is suppose to always learning something new and getting his/her position more stronger everyday, its a knowledge market, whoever knows more gets better $$. With my 7yr US exp and total 10 yrs CS exp I have no scare that any single fresh EAD will come close to me. A senior is always a senior no matter which field you talk.

I just opened this thread casually and found so many helpful messages to a single problem. I am so glad to know that there are so many good people around to help their fellow beings. I sincerely appreciate each and everyone who took time to help in someway.

During my Infopass appointment, Lady Officer told me that your approved advanced parole is mailed to your home address and she verified my home address with me as well. Now my AP was approved on Oct 1*. I had a Infopass on 6th Nov. According to officer AP was "mailed" on the same day as "approval". That was not sufficient, so to add that, I got an email from lawyer yesterday mentioning the receipt of our all approved APs at his office.
So conclusion: Do not trust USCIS officer whatever they say during Infopass.

Hi Guys,
After a long journey of more than Sixteen years in this country, I finally received my GC.
In short, I came in 1993 on J-1 for my training which took six years, followed by one year on O-1 visa and then J-1 waiver for three and half years in underserved area. Then applied for labor certification in Oct, 2003 EB2, through university, which was approved and then retrogressed. Applied Schedule IIA, approved but also got retrogressed. Got AILA liaison and Senetor involved.
Applied for EB1 and NIW in July 2008.
My lawyer was very much involved in the whole process, was very helpful at every step, and wrote letters to USCIS.
Finally, GC came in April, 2009 and received the cards one week later. My PD Oct 2003.
During these time, I actually had no problmes at my job or my my wife's job. Brought a house four years ago.
The main problems were:
Daughter and son could not apply to state colleges/ medical colleges. (daughter going to med school next month)
Got stuck in India for renew of H-1 for 2 months!!! (worst time of my life, with my wife and kids in US) I tied every thing from writing letters to calling Ambasador. Not effective.
Could not go to certain occasions, like death of very close family members, weddings etc.
However, I kept my cool and prayed and got lot of support from Immigration voice.
As a small token of appreciation, I am donating $500 .(and will keep on supporting)
We all are going to get GC, some sooner some later. Just keep on doing you job.

Pune, India in 1996, i just filled out a form, attached a no objection certificate from my company and got a check in 2 weeks. I did not have to pay a dime, i wasnt asked any. I guess it was probably because i was in no rush to get the money.
I try not to pay out money in india, it takes time to get things done, but they do get done...maybe things have changed alot since, but i hope it should not be that bad.
I do not know in which city of India you took out your PPF.,
But I heard you have to pay atleast 5% to get PPF back in Hyd.,
Hope corruption will not be that high by next 20 years in India!!

I haven�t got a chance to see the actual RFE notice yet, but as per my lawyer it�s for the TB test. The doctor skipped the TB skin test and we both did the X-ray which came back negative.
Does anyone went to a different doctor that the one who initially took the test. I relocated since I took the test, and would like to avoid the 4hr drive.
