9. What does the settlement provide?
NVIDIA has agreed to provide a replacement of the NVIDIA GPU or MCP to Class Members who purchased certain versions of some Dell, Inc. or Apple Inc. notebook computers that contain an NVIDIA chip and who send in a valid Claim Form and appropriate supporting documentation.
NVIDIA has also agreed to provide a fund in the amount of $2,000,000 to provide reimbursements if you purchased a version of one of the notebook computer models identified in the Full Notice that contains an NVIDIA GPU or MCP during the dates listed in the Full Notice experienced certain identified symptoms, and have appropriate documentation proving that you paid to have the notebook computer repaired. The amount of reimbursement may depend on the number of reimbursement claims received.

I think that the 20" iMac is very nice. Have heard many positive reviews about the iMac and this model in particular. Should handle your programs very nicely. I would recommend getting extra RAM if its affordable.

MacRumors has always been very fast, delivering every requested page in a short amount of time. But over the past couple of days the site has slowed WAY down. Sometimes the pages will load just as fast as always, but then suddenly it'll be REALLY slow, taking like 30 to 120 seconds to fully load a page. I'm pretty certain that it's not being caused by my computer or internet connection, because I'm not seeing this new delay at any other sites I visit.

Those settings should certainly stick. Is this running the latest 10.6 release? (10.6.5)

So I have owned my 2011MBP (15", 2.2GHz) for about a month now, and while it isn't slow, it doesn't feel as fast as my 3 year old C2D (E6750) based system. On my Windows machine, I can run several virtual machines, for months, without even noticing any impact on other applications such as Adobe CS3, etc. This system only has 4GB of memory, and an older 750GB HD.
If I try running just 1 virtual machine (be it XP or Windows 7), it makes the laptop almost useless, while the VM itself isn't running that fast either. I have tweaked some of the performance settings in Parallels, but nothing seems to make a difference. I upgraded to 8GB of memory, still no difference.
Is this a typical experience?
I just use Boot Camp for Win 7 Pro, same laptop as you 15" 2.2ghz, 4gb ram and 750gb hd w/ hr anti-glare. I have no issues, although I am tempted to upgrade to 8gb ram before my month ends of owning this only for a feeling of complete, if I don't upgrade I could care less b/c this beast is quick and no and I mean no issues.

Yeah but her model is an unibody one, it shouldn't be breaking since there is nothing slamming at it every time you close the lid.
It has happened before and apple replaced it for free (under warranty). Mine has nothing of those cracks but the top part is new (faulty lcd, replaced for free).

Under the iChat preferences on the Video tab, at the bottom there is an option for audio from the internal mic or Line-in. It may say none too if you don't have an internal I think.

a 500 dually should be planty fast, although im not sure if those 2 500s act as a 1ghz in osx, or if the application has to be multithreaded

Okay... maybe it is because I'm new here.... is this a Mac only thing? I fold on W7 using CPU and GPU.... the max points that you get on your CPU = 1920 for 1 WU

Pages is perfectly fine for word processing, which I know from experience as I been using it for that purpose every day for nearly two years. Most of the people who say otherwise either haven't learned to use it or would have preferred that Apple produce a Word clone. Some of are very happy that they did not go that route.

Office isn't even installed on my PowerBook anymore, and I've been using Pages and Keynote quite successfully on campus (where lots of classes and professors want lots of word and powerpoints all the time) for two semesters now and am glad I made the switch. I'm excited to hear about Lasso.

As I said before...
PowerMac G5 = DIMMs in PAIRS
4 DIMM or 8 DIMMs do not matter, all PowerMac G5s use memory in pairs -- due to dual channel memory.
Single channel is 1 DIMM installed at a time, the PowerMac G5 is NOT one of these machines. Therefore install 2 at a time.
OK. thanks. I was at the apple store today and i told the salesperson that i wanted 1 gig of ram. he offered me a 1 gb stick, or two 512s. That's why i was confused. I told him that i thought they needed to be in pairs, and he said no.

If you have a couple of cases, why is this phone so scratched up in 2 weeks time? It looks like you put it in your pocket with keys and $3.00 in change?
The back of it? Ever think mayyyybe that's the reason I BOUGHT the cases? That was keys, and the front of the iPhone is flawless thank you very much. Go crap somewhere else.

I posted this in the pro forums but it probably belongs here.
Under OSX i get great wireless performance. Full strength all over the house.
However in boot camp if I leave the room I go down to half bars, if I go into the bedroom (maybe 10 meters away from router), I go down do absolutely no signal and lose internet. However in the same place I have full bars on OSX.
Any ideas?
