In the event handler for the UI element you click, simply do a cast such as "sender as UIElement". That will give you a reference to the element you are trying to find.

If your PD is in May'06 or early Jun'06, I think paying a visit to USCIS center won't hurt. Checking online status is a waste of time. At least you'll know what's going on with it. The IO I went to was very nice lady and gave me all the details. I thought that there would a line of GC aspirants like me :) waiting in USCIS center (in bay area) but to my surprise it was empty! Hope this helps

Iam july 2nd filers for I-485, I-765 and I-131 at the Nebraska Service center. Haven't seen any activity yet. called the USCIS last evening and the answer I got is still not in the system. Is there anyone who is still in the same boat? please update!

What I'm going to tell you to do is illegal. So do it at your own risk.
I don't think USCIS is ever going to find out about your income unless you disclose it.
Not filing tax returns is illegal no matter how small the income is. 5k is definitely big enough. I think you should go ahead and file tax returns atleast for 2009, so that you won't get into trouble with the IRS.
This is just my opinion.
My SSN and EID is tied to my business. I'm sure CIS has means to find out if they wanted to. Any other suggestions that don't involve lieing?

....My permanent employment is in Massachusetts...so from what I read( from I-140 and 485 instructions) my permanent employment which is Massachusetts...does not correspond to the Nebraska Service Center...it corresponds to the Texas Service Center. I know someone who went to Canada for the weekend and got the I-94 with the correct date on it.
Note that the airline (AA), on his way out of the US, was not willing to take his I-94 since he was going for less than 30 days. So he had to explain to them about his situation and they took it.
Also note that if you have an Indian passport, you will need a visa to go to Canada.
The other option to extend your I-94 is for your employer to refile I-129, and request for extension of stay. This can be done using premium processing.

Now my issue is to extend my I-94 upto the validity of H1B visa. I went through similar thread and it says crossing US border to Mexico or Canada will do to get the new I-94. So I am planning to make a trip to Mexico after my passport got renewed to renew I-94. Does it work?. Or do I have to go out of American Continent to get the new I-94. Some thread from (other sites) said, I need to go out American Continent..Is it true?.
Or is there any other way to extend my I-94 without crossing the border?.

My parents are scheduled to travel on Monday via delta flight to India via Paris. As you all know all European flights are either cancelled or postponed and paris airport is currently closed. Their I-94 date is 19-April.
They will travel on next available flight if we find that monday flight is cancelled (which is likely). Assuming that their travel is cancelled or postponed, it is evident that they will most likely pass their I94 date.
What should we do in such situation? Just trying to understand any steps we need to take in advance if we have to notify any authority etc.

You need to be aware that there are state and federal laws. Usually complaints are filed with state DOL when employer did not pay salary or performed unlawful deduction. If employer violates H1B/GC laws, you can complain to federal DOL. The same story with filing complaint with the state court or federal court.

It takes 60 days from the RFE received date to make a decision on your AP. If dec 31st passes and if you don't hear anything from USCIS, you may need to call them.
If it is an emergency travel and cannot wait for their approval, you need to visit the local USCIS office with an appointment.

I know a person who came to US on H4 in feb 2004 applied for H1 in the firt week of April 2005,
her Employer who filed for H1 suggested that she would get her H1 from Jan 1st 2006 , so she can travel to India
on that assurance she left for India on September 15 and came back on Dec 28th and
on Jan 1st when she called employer they mailed her H1 copy and the date of Approval is Oct 1st.
Does this mean H1 is Invalidated as per Last Actions Count Rule.
She has been working on H1 since then (not regularly though)
and did not file for H4 extension assuming her H1 is valid. H4 expired on Aril 2006
Has any one gone through the same situation.
Whats her Status as of now, If her husband is applying for 485 what do you guys suggest put on I94 what should her action from now on.
One lawyer suggests she should apply for 485 and and if they raise query come with some answer at that time.
another one says she should file for H4 and quit working.
She is totally clueless please help.
If there is a valid I-94 that you can mention on 485 form and if that I-94 is not expired and it is also the latest I-94, then you may be ok.
Do not apply 485 without I-94. In absence of I-94, they wont send any RFE, they will reject the 485 case right away. The new USCIS memo states that if initial evidence is missing, then they are not obligated to send RFE anymore. They have authority to reject it right away.
