As I understand, technically there are different situations - for example,
1. If some one is married to Canadian Citizen, his/her requirement of presence not needed and can hold lifelong Canadian PR, while remainig in USA on GC or as US Citizen.
2. Similarly, if someone is hired by Canadian Company and sent to USA, his/her requirement for presence is not needed.
American Citizen do get Canadian PR, there are some advantage too, such as medical.

I filed my 485 last week and didn't file for EAD. My spouse is filing 485 next week and i will be a dependent in that application. If i apply for EAD in his application, can i use it to invoke AC21 if i have to change job after 6 months under my 485?
I have read here that EAD is not necessary for AC21, but my lawyer said its needed.
You cannot file 2 AOS petitions. Did your lawyer tell you that?
To apply for EAD thru your husband you would have to apply for I485 again , which you cannot.
You can file one AOS and one CP

If two consultants are working through a consultancy, their own opinion might differ drastically about the same company. These desi consultancies treat everybody differently.
I agree to that wholeheartedly!
I used to work for a Consultancy A(a middle size desi Consultancy firm based out of NYC)...signed a 2 year contract...broke it within 6 months & joined an even worse company B(which I found out only after joining them...very small west coast company)... got sued by company A ...left B and joined back A.
But after coming back to them(A), I could appreciate more of their way of working ...as I saw even worse companies. If you are honoring the contract, then everything is fine...
So, some of my friends, would say company A is a bloodsucker....for me they are still better than most other Desi consultancy companies.
Since then, I have moved on in life and do not work for company A....

Guys, I made a silly mistake - I reversed first name and last name values - realized after submitting the form.
Should I put in a covering letter about the mistake with supporting docs.. or just let it pass through.. I'm worried that they might reject my application and I'll have to file again ( no refund !!! :( )
Any suggestions please ?

I've been impressed by Senator Graham's willingness to help move forward immigration reform, but this is really pathetic. Graham reported on his meeting today with President Obama and Senator Schumer. Most of it sounds good until you get to this lovely part:I expressed, in no uncertain terms, my belief that immigration reform could come to a halt for the year if health care reconciliation goes forward. For more than a year, health care has sucked most of the energy out of the room. Using reconciliation to push health care through will make it much harder for Congress to come together...

Actually, I don't think there really is a ROW is there? Isn't it just that 193 country columns isn't practical.
actually as and when a country hits the 7% per-country limit or in general becomes a big consumer of visas, it gets its own column.
China for instance has been in and out. In 1999 it was its own column, became part of ROW in 2002 and now again has its own column:

Dominican Republic was there in 1995, but is now part of ROW:

Waiting for my spouse's GC (dependent)
I got mine (primary) over the weekend. Any one else in same boat ?
Me and my spouse didn't applied together, I added her in 2008.
Happy to see more approvals. You should think about contributing to IV that helped you in your green card journey

I heard under current USCIS procedures, USCIS scan an applicant for all existing I-140 approvals. You are then automatically assigned the earliest PD your are entitled to. (Multiple I140s with single I485).
I am not sure if they port PDs with different categories. Like One have EB3- PD2004 & EB2- PD2008 so EB2 will be ported to PD2004. I think they have have stpooed this & USCIS has started assigning multiple priority dates depends upon category.

Why is the issue date matter?
When was the birth registered? If it says recently, then you should go thru the process.
If the birth was registered proerly at right time, you will not have problems.
Reissuance of birth certificates are very common. Expecting one to own 27 years old document is ridiculous.
The birth was registered just two months later -- but from what I've been reading the issue date (being so recent) does raise some eyebrows as well. The question posed is ... why haven't you tried to get a 'correct' birth certificate issued so far and only got it issued last month for US immigration purposes.
To be really safe, our lawyer is requesting we get affidavits sworn as well.
