So read the instruction again and you will see that some of the references to sending the document to overseas consulate refers to when it's used as a Reentry Permit, Refuge Travel Document, or as Advanced Parole for humanitarian reasons. I have been a consultant with vendor V at client C for over 4 years now, wanted to change the vendor but this guy showed an anti compete I signed with him at previous client(no contract signed for current client though) mentioning anticompete for any future clients of Vendor.
The company is based off New York where anticompete is followed, so I had to forgo my plans of joining another vendor for the client.

I would recommend to extend H1-B, if the employer is paying for it. Extended travel on AP is tricky, but its not an issue with H1-B. If there is no extended travel plans (e.g. Working for three months from another country, or 3 month leave spent in another country etc), then there is no advantage to have H1-B.
-- not true. one of the biggest advantages of stayig on H1-V is that you maintain status even if your 485 is denied for some reason. You dont have to leave the country, you cna file an MTR and keep on working. If you are on EAD, and your 485 is denied for any reason, you need to stop working immediately. You also end up out of status right then. Being on H1 ssaves you all that trouble.
Another advantage of staying on H1 is if you are not married and want to bring your spouse over, you can do it using H4. Once youa re on EAD, your spouse has to wait for your PD to be current so she can file her own 485...
An interesting question may be, if this will count towards the lifetime cap of 12 years of H1B? That I don't know.

It sometimes take longer than few days. During my years of getting AP's every year there are times I had my AP in hand within 3 days to almost 20 days. I am confident you will get your AP document much before the end of the month. Good luck with your travel plans.

I am in the similar situation. Attended for visa interview at Toronto US Consulate on May 6. VO just kept I129 (All the annexures), Client/vendor letters. Informed you will get replay within 1-2wks. Its already been a week, I didnt get any response back. Consulate called client on the same day. No updates after that.

tell your friend to put 33% less effort on the project work. take 1.5 days in a week off for searching for other jobs and talk to a lawyer, DOL. with the offer letter he can be sued by a gain-share arrangement with some lawyer - these lawyers charge no upfront fees but the lawyer takes x% of the damages awarded... better a blood sucking lawyer make the money than a blood sucking employer.

it was in 2006 quota, got her h1 approval document in november, applied in november second week and by dec 2 week got her ssn.
She was on h4 for the past 3 years and converted to H1 in december officially( as she got her SSN)

On Ron Gotcher's site, they said that they were working to get the fees for the MTR refunded (correct me if I'm wrong)... Because, seriously, if it's wrongful denial, emphasis on the word "wrongful", why would it cost soooo much???
