Yep, your photos are nice.. but in today's digital world 99% of all current dslr camera equipment is capable of producing better work than 99% of all current photographers will ever accomplish. As others pointed out, professional success is more about marketing and sales than skill truthfully. I know some really crappy surf photographers that travel the world on some company's dime, while I am stuck on the east coast shooting masterpieces!:p:cool:
Unless you just find a different angle of something and portray it in a new and unique light that hasn't been exploited already; then you may really be on to something.;)
Clark Little (http://www.clarklittlephotography.com/) did it right, with a combination of honed skills, proper use of light and processing, he's revealed the surf in a way never quite seen by the average viewer and yet is appealing to folks who have never even been to a beach. Some risk also was involved.. but you've seen his pics even if you don't know who he is...

We did something like this one (http://www.trafalgar.com/european-heritage-2011) back in 1990, although it has changed somewhat. It was great, except for the up-at-the-crack-of-dawn, get breakfast, and on-the-bus shite.

I am seriously considering camping out as I REALLY want one as soon as possible... Has anyone been at this location for a launch before? Is it pretty popular? I was hoping that maybe it wasn't as popular of an Apple store and that the lines would be shorter... that and I live in Oakland about 5 minutes away!

There can be a very long wait between alpha and being 'delivered to us', not to mention mobile substrate needs to be updated to work with iOS 4.3. If it's not the whiners asking when it will be available, it's people jumping to conclusions that it's 'just waiting to be delivered to us.'

I have a 1TB WD Caviar Black drive as an external and I'm glad they put in the Seagate in mine.
My Caviar Black is fast, but it's a lot of clicking and seeking.
I also have a Caviar Green and a Caviar Blue, the green being my favorite as it's pretty silent.
I can't hear my Seagate drive at all even when transferring documents at full tilt.
I have to say, I'm used to SSDs but I think I'll be OK with this drive until Lion is released and hopeful the Intel SSD 320s drop in price and I get the nerve up to open this baby up and do some surgery... :rolleyes:

Ive actually had decent results with the GoPro as far as a cheap camera goes. With your above requests that camera would suffice. However I wouldnt use it for ENG, Docs (well maybe as B-roll) or anything thatll need low-light.
Now of your budget is over 1k then we can talk better cameras ;)
Currently testing a Sony PMW-F3. Its the new Sony HD camera that can handle all kinds of lenses (PL yada yada).
We generally use the high-end stuff here at work e.g. RED MX but at times we have to purchase and assess lower end cameras for other depts.
If you need something to be safe around or in water, you cant go wrong with the GoPro. It impresses me more every time I use it. It isn't the most user friendly, but "bang for your buck" is, IMO, off the chart.

Hi guys,
Pulling my hair out with this one as I'm one of those types that wants a fix and not a workaround.
A couple of days ago I put my Mac Pro to sleep before I got into bed as I usually do.
I was just drifting off to sleep and the thing decided to wake up on it's own. I put it back to sleep and I thought nothing of it until about 30 mins later it did it again.
Now I reset the PRAM, reset the SMC, trashed the powermanagement.plist and this didn't have an affect.
I then thought actually, why not do a fresh install of Snow Leopard as it's been running for sometime now and I had a lot of software installed I didn't use so I thought why not.
It's STILL doing the same thing.
Now the log says:

So I am presuming it's a bluetooth device, which is either my magic mouse or my apple wireless keyboard causing the issue.
Could it be a dodgy bluetooth card though?
It hasn't had this problem ever before so I was also thinking it's maybe due to the recent 10.6.7 update which I read caused some trouble with bluetooth devices on some other macs.
It's just really bizarre.
I can turn off the 'allow bluetooth devices to wake this computer' and see if that helps but I have NEVER had to change this default setting before which would suggest some other conflict, a faulty mouse or keyboard or a faulty bluetooth card.
I don't want to just fix the symptom if the underlying problem is faulty hardware as I would rather have the offending article swapped out whilst I still have applecare.
Has anyone else experienced this lately???

for sure you have a faulty gfx chip. Your best bet is to replace the logic board.

I don't think that a mac formatted shuffle would be able to transfer data to a windows computer. I've done it the once and found this to be the case.
