It looks like NSC has slowed down a bit on EAD processing. I am seeing many posts where folks e-filed their EAD renewals in the 1st week of July 2008 and are still waiting for the FP appointments notice.

I learned that the full committee meeting was scheduled for June 23rd (yesterday). Was it dropped or rescheduled?? Can you give that piece of information?
From what I can tell, there was nothing scheduled for 23rd.

Hi,
Filed at NSC on Jul 21st. Received as per FedEx receipt on Jul 23rd. Transferred I-485s, EADs and APs applications from NSC to CSC.
Received EADs and APs on Sept 25th from CSC.
Sept 18th notice received that I-485s have been moved back from CSC to NSC.
Rceipt date for transfer notice is Sept 18th. Dont see my actual Jul 23rd date anywhere.
When I posted this on , posters suggested that there is a "Receipt Notice" versus a "Transfer Notice".
My lawyer received the receipt notice. Will check with him about the Receipt date on that notice and post later today.
Any other ideas what this all means would be appreciated.

Try Senator/congressman + Ombudsman inquiry now. If you do not get a response or nothing happens, contact me. Let us see what we can do for people who are current since a long time.

I feel that we are here to compensate the shortage of highly skilled people and we do not deserve unnecessary hurdles/problems/pains that adversely affect our normal lives! We have other things to worry about! For example if our kids don't poop!;)
Here is one I have faced personally and I feel it is absolutely unnecessary! ( or may be it can be changed )
1. Travel issues....when you have applied for H1 extension, sometimes it takes 6 months, you cannot travel during this period, and you have to wait till it is approved. Have paid $1000 twice for premium processing! How this can be fixed ?

Exactly. God foribid we lose our jobs. Before and after this announcement we are one bad earnings quarter away from being shipped back home. Its hard to enjoy life with stress like this.

My suggestion to you is to keep an open mind, accepting that your circumstances aren't presently of your choosing. Once you acknowledge your stress and accept it, you will be in a better position to focus on other aspects of your life that you might be neglecting as a result of your stress - for instance, having fun.

Hi,
I am talking to different lawyers for using AC21 - new position title and functions are almost similar with similar salaries in the same region, old employer might revoke the approved I140 but 180 days are over and I140 is approved - couple lawyers mentioned that the case is straight forward but still mentioned that they are not going to take the case because they decided not to do AC21 in many cases. Reason they mentioned is that underlying I485 is not filed by them and if its rejected for any reason there is a chance of mal-practise suit against them. The fact that they didnt do anything after taking the case might work against them. Their current insurance against mal-practise is not enough to cover these types of instances. I found the argument a bit weird but wondering if anyone else heard same - I heard this from 2 of the 3 lawyers I called locally.

If you have an approved I-140 and the job description matches that of your Labor, you shouldn't have any issues. The job title shouldn't matter either, it's all in the description/role/responsibilities and the technology. If the technology/tool changes then it's an issue because the Labor you have tells that there is a shortage of people in that area.

- What does corruption-back-home has to do with it? There is a more open political discourse here. We should either participate and let them know what we want, or they will do whatever they want ( like they tried to reduce EB quota to 90,000 in the last CIR).
- I have been to many lawmaker Offices in Michigan, I have visited several lawmaker offices in DC (both in and out of Michigan). Over that, I went and testified before MI Senate Transportation committee when they were denying Driving Licences to all foreign workers.
If you think they delayed your EAD for 120 days, why do you think they approved mine in 2 months flat, for full 2 years, even synchronizing the expiry date of the EAD with the validity of the new one (meaning, I didn't lose a single day)? We don't all have the resources to hire powerful lawyers and fight for a couple years. Did they take 120 days to renew my EAD because I visited my congressional representative's staff? Maybe.
-"Transparent" and "accountable" are words not often used to describe USCIS and her parent Homeland Security. But they do have complete authority over our lives. Kafka could write a book! (Oh, he did.)

They are publicly targeted by politicians as causing all the problems in the land (Tancredo for example) with out any serious rebuke. Regardless of whether it is change for the better, and there is no other constituency to demand improvements. Case in point was Elliot Spitzer. Although what he was doing was right and justified; he took on some big players in Wall Street. Lots of fines; regulations, etc. Then all of a sudden he gets caught in a sting and he is ruined forever.

Yes you are right, there is bound to have EAD flood in market, with spouses of hi-tech worker will come to market to search hi-tech job with spouse phone support. I have seen such cases countless times in past few years and yes they will be in future without exception. However, matter of fact, these fresh EAD (previous H4) don't get the dream job in first attempt, it takes good 2 year to find a similar job that H1b hitech worker does.
But thats the realty of market, every year new jobs are added and every year new job seekers join the crowd.
On the otherside, a hitech worker is suppose to always learning something new and getting his/her position more stronger everyday, its a knowledge market, whoever knows more gets better $$. With my 7yr US exp and total 10 yrs CS exp I have no scare that any single fresh EAD will come close to me. A senior is always a senior no matter which field you talk.

I got LUDs on 2/10 on both mine and my wife's 485. My wife got an RFE email on 02/13. I do not know what this means either...
Looks like lot of EB-3 applications who filed 485 at the end of june got LUDs last week, some with RFE and some just soft LUD.
